Our Mission
Expanding Scientific Horizons strives to increase the number of Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) graduates from historically underrepresented communities, including, but not limited to Black or African American persons, Hispanic or Latino persons, Native American persons, and Alaska Native persons. This is to be accomplished by the establishment of the ESH Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship to foster research networks and possibly future collaboration with Japanese scientists with hopes of encouraging students to apply to STEM graduate programs. This fellowship will provide undergraduate students majoring in STEM fields the opportunity to carry out summer research in science, engineering, technology, and math at Japanese universities.
